Actor Ferdous Ahmed has been experiencing a rough time lately. He lost his position as a member of Parliament within seven months. Since then, he, like other MPs of the Awami League, has been untraceable. There are reports that he was removed from a Tollywood movie due to his silence during the student movement, a significant event that has led to his removal from a major film project.

Ferdous was supposed to act in Arkodeep Mallika Nath’s movie ‘Mir Zafar Chapter Two’. However, the movie’s producer, Rana Sarkar, announced yesterday that Ferdous is no longer part of the film. Rana Sarkar stated, “The film aims to connect with both Bengal’s audiences. Considering the sentiments of the people of Bangladesh, particularly the students, I have decided not to cast any Bangladeshi actors or actresses who did not support the anti-discrimination student movement in my films. This is why we are not including Ferdous in the movie. Additionally, he has been unresponsive despite multiple attempts to contact him since last January.”

Last year, the official announcement of the ‘Mir Zafar Chapter Two’ movie revealed the actors’ looks, but shooting has not started yet. There’s a delay in shooting, but it’s not because of Ferdous. Rana Sarkar mentioned that the movie was initially scheduled to be shot in 2023. Still, due to various reasons, it was not possible. The delay is mainly due to the complex process of obtaining permission to shoot the film in the Bangladesh-India border area, a crucial location for the movie’s storyline.

The producer commented on the future of the movie ‘Mir Zafar Chapter Two’, stating, “I originally intended to work with artists from both countries, as there were plans to release the movie in two countries. However, working with the previous artists isn’t easy, given the current situation. Releasing the movie in both Bengals is crucial for its success. It should not be limited to just West Bengal; I aim to proceed with the project only if its release in Bangladesh is feasible.”

Ziaul Roshan from Bangladesh is also expected to star in this movie. Producer Rana mentioned that Roshan would be involved once the film starts production in the future. He stated, “We have no issues with Roshan. We will reach out to him before the shooting begins. If he is interested, he will definitely be part of the movie. Ferdous Bhai will be replaced at that time.” The movie Mir Zafar Chapter Two’s screenplay is based on the theme of village politics. Producer Arkodeep said, “I am from Murshidabad. I have witnessed numerous incidents of crime there since I was a child. I want to depict the reality of village politics in my debut movie.”
