The Director General of Shishu Academy resigned

Anjir Liton, director general of Bangladesh Shishu Academy, is resigning for personal reasons. On August 12, he sent a letter to the senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Works to announce his resignation. His resignation, effective immediately, will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the academy’s operations and future direction.
The resignation letter stated, “I resigned from the post of Director General of Bangladesh Shishu Academy for personal reasons. Please accept the resignation and oblige thereby.”
Liton was appointed the Director General of Bangladesh Shishu Academy in 2022. He was appointed for the next three years from the date of joining on condition of severance of working relationships with other institutions and organizations.
Born in Mymensingh in 1965, Anjir Liton was appointed as the Director of Bangladesh Shishu Academy in 2016 on a contractual basis for one year. His tenure was marked by numerous achievements, including establishing new programs and initiatives to promote children’s literature and cultural affairs. In 2021, he won the Bangla Academy Literature Award for his contribution to children’s literature. He studied in the Department of Political Science at Rajshahi University.
Liton’s first book, Khara Duto Shing, was published in 1992. His work in children’s literature has not only been prolific but also influential, inspiring many young readers. In addition to writing, he has planned and written various programs for television and radio.
