The United States did not change any rules for Bangladesh under the new visa restriction policy. The United States though thinks that law has been misused while handling the case of Noble Peace Prize winner professor Doctor Muhammad Yunus.

This was stated by Vedant Patel principal deputy spokesperson of Biden administration. During the press conference a journalist had asked Vedant Patel about this issue. But he completely avoided answering the question.

Since Bangladesh national election just ended there’s no big update to be provided. Mr.Patel said that there is no change in policy as of now. The journalist had questions about Bangladesh government filing new corruption charges against Dr. Yunus. And his ability to travel has been banned by court of law. 125 Noble Peace Prize winners and 243 world leaders have expressed their support for Dr. Yunus’s lawsuit. All kinds of harassment against Dr. Yunus should be stopped immediately was said by the senate of United States. The next question by the journalist for Mr. Patel was also related to Dr. Yunus, to which he said that it shows the misuse of labour law of Bangladesh. He also requested the government of Bangladesh to start fair law enforcement and transparency for the Dr. Yunus case.
