In honor of preserving the national cultural heritage and paying tribute to intellectuals, the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy organized a commemorative event titled “Memories, Existence, Future.”

The event, spanning from May 24th to June 12th, 2024, will take place at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy premises, where 62 intellectuals will be remembered through discussions and cultural programs.

Many renowned artists, cultural workers, maestros, poets, literary figures, theater enthusiasts, and cultural students will be remembered at the event. Among them will be S. M. Sultan, Komol Das Gupta, Ajit Ray, Shachindra Barman, Shafiuddin Ahmed, Samar Das, Novera Ahmed, Muhammad Kibria, Jia Haider, Dr. Inamul Haque, Abbas Uddin, Suchitra Sen, Ustad Alauddin Khan, Khandakar Nurul Alam, Mir Mosharraf Hossain, Poet Chandrabati, Mahesh Chandra Roy, and many more.

The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, aims to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the nation while honoring the contributions of eminent intellectuals.

Throughout the event, various aspects of Bangladesh’s cultural heritage will be showcased, paying homage to the profound influence of these intellectuals on shaping the country’s artistic and intellectual landscape.

From thought-provoking discussions to captivating cultural performances, the event will serve as a platform to reflect on the invaluable legacy left behind by these intellectuals.
