Israeli forces have intensified their assault on the besieged enclave of Palestine. 18 people have been killed in an overnight Israeli airstrike after it targeted a house in Khan Younis. Gunfire and explosions have also been reported in the occupied West Bank’s Nablus city and Shu’fat refugee camp in East Jerusalem.

The impact of Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip has caused near irreversible damage to infrastructure. In northern Gaza, Jabalia refugee camp has been flooded as heavy rain and sewage water seep into the camp, significantly increasing the risk of disease. The United Nations has warned that Gaza has become “uninhabitable” after three months of fighting.

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, has said that all of Lebanon will be “exposed” if the armed group does not respond to the killing of Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Arouri. Nasrallah reaffirmed that Hezbollah “cannot be silent about a violation of this level”.

Nasrallah’s television address came after Lebanon filed a complaint to the UN Security Council accusing Israel of firing multiple missiles in civilian areas to kill al-Arouri and using Lebanese airspace to bomb Syria, according to a report by the Reuters news agency.
