Dhaka University Hosts Special Screening of Documentary 'Unveiling the Tapestry: An Exclusive Screening of Threads.'

Dhaka University recently hosted a special screening of ‘Unveiling the Tapestry: An Exclusive Screening of Threads,’ a documentary highlighting the life and work of Nakshikantha artist Suraiya Rahman. This documentary film was screened on Friday (February 9) at 10 a.m. in the RC Majumdar Auditorium of the university. The event, organized by the Spriha Foundation and Dhaka University Cultural Council, drew a crowd eager to witness Rahman’s story.
Director Kathy Stevulak, along with Tajin Shahdid, founder of the Spriha Foundation, and other notable figures, attended the screening. Expressing gratitude for the support, Stevulak emphasized the emotional impact of the documentary. “Every time I watch this documentary, I get emotional,” said director and producer Kathy Staveulak.
Shahdid reflected on the foundation’s journey and thanked the Dhaka University Cultural Council for their support. Dhaka University Cultural Council President Debjyoti Biswas said, “Dhaka University Cultural Council believes in nurturing and preserving the heritage of Bengali culture. Nakshi Kantha is our tradition. We applaud this initiative of the Spriha Foundation.”
