Cyclone Remal 5,000 workers ready for tackling - Home Minister

Members of the law enforcement agencies are prepared for the cyclone ‘Remal’ competition. At a preparatory meeting for the cyclone ‘Remal’ competition held at the Secretariat conference room yesterday, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan spoke about all these after the meeting.

The Home Minister said, “All our security forces are working for us. Our coastguard has been mic’ing in 57 places in the upstream for the last three days. At the same time, they have managed some relief with the search and rescue boat. They have arranged for this relief for the next cyclone. Our naval police and district police are working with the district administration. They are working to shelter the people safely. The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force has been stationed there for the last 4 days to face the cyclone and for the subsequent rescue operation for around 10 thousands people. BGB and RAB are ready for law enforcement. For the protection of the small BP of BGB in the Sundarbans area, they have also made arrangements. If there is any destruction there after the cyclone, RAB is ready there for the relief operation. Police and RAB are present in all those places for the safety of those who have come to the shelter centers now.

He said, “In our coastal areas, our coast guard is monitoring live through V-set network for continuous communication. The Fire Service has set up three control rooms in the entire coastal area. Five thousand workers are ready for cyclone preparedness.

Personnel and volunteers are ready for road and infrastructure repairs and removal after the cyclone. So that we can take an arrangement immediately. All of us are prepared for that. Our law enforcement agency members are also prepared to prevent looting incidents during the cyclone or afterwards. At this time, members of BGB, Ansar, Coast Guard, RAB, and Fire Service were present.
