During his visit to the 12th National Parliament Elections Appeal Application Procedure, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal saw the effectiveness of the officials in managing appeals from candidates who were not scrutinized. By 4 p.m. that day, 42 applicants had submitted their appeals out of 731 nomination papers.

CEC Awal made it clear that candidates who feel wronged by the Returning Officers’ decision can file an appeal from December 5 to December 9. He waved away questions about certain contenders, such as Barrister Shahjahan Omar, saying they were unimportant.

In addition to reiterating the army’s presence alongside law enforcement, Election Commissioner Muhammad Alamgir guaranteed a peaceful 12th national parliament election. In order to satisfy foreign observers, he emphasized the Election Commission’s commitment to guaranteeing a peaceful election and highlighted efforts to preserve a calm polling atmosphere notwithstanding rare incidences of violence.

Alamgir responded to the security concerns of the candidates by guaranteeing equal security measures and prompt action in the event of harassment reports, along with informing the Returning Officer. The Election Commission’s commitment to a peaceful electoral environment is reflected in the administrative reorganization process, which attempts to support free elections.
